Its broad, naturally sculpted form and characteristic opening are associated with the gentle face of Gau Mata (the sacred cow), giving this Shankh its name.

The shell features beautiful natural ridges, spiral formations and warm ivory, cream and subtle brown tones. Every piece has its own unique shape, markings and surface texture, reflecting the natural formation of the shell.

  • Hold the Shankh securely with both hands, keeping the shell stable and the blowing opening comfortably positioned.
  • Place your lips firmly around the opening to create a good seal.
  • Take a deep breath and blow steadily into the opening.
  • Adjust your lip position and airflow until you feel the shell begin to vibrate and produce a tone.
  • Use controlled, steady breaths rather than blowing with excessive force.
  • Allow the sound to resonate and fade naturally before blowing again.
